Straight answers about how KinetiCura works
Privacy, alerting, hardware and accuracy. If your question is not here, ask it directly and we will answer it plainly.
What KinetiCura can and cannot see
No. There is no monitoring room and no live feed for anyone to watch. KinetiCura's software analyses each frame on the edge device in the building, extracts skeletal pose markers, and discards the frame. What remains is a stick-figure representation of movement, not an image of a person.
No video is stored, streamed off-site or retained. Only event data — the time, the room, the anomaly type and the pose pattern that triggered it — is sent to the cloud, encrypted in transit and at rest.
Yes, per person and per room, at any time. Families and residents can pause monitoring for a visit or disable a room entirely. In care settings, consent is recorded against the care plan and can be withdrawn by the resident or their representative.
Registered household members are monitored for all events and episodes; guests are only monitored for acute emergencies, such as a fall or assistance request. In these cases, a corresponding alert is dispatched to the registered residents' contacts.
KinetiCura is designed around data minimisation: the personal data that would be most sensitive — recognisable video — is never created. Deployments are supported with a data protection impact assessment template, documented lawful basis, consent records and role-based access with an audit trail.
What happens when something is detected
You define a nominated and prioritized circle of care — for example a daughter first, then a son, then the home-care agency. KinetiCura sends an alert SMS notification to them in priority order.
Detection happens in real time on the edge device, and the first notification is dispatched within a minute of a confirmed anomaly. A short confirmation window is deliberately built in so that ordinary movements are not escalated as emergencies.
No — and that is the point. Many services rely on analysts to review data patterns and decide whether to notify the care team. KinetiCura's AI performs that analysis itself and escalates directly, so response time does not depend on who is on shift in a monitoring centre.
Debounce logic and clinically-informed thresholds separate genuine falls from sitting, bending or lying down by choice. We endeavour to keep the false-positive rate below 5%, however, since human physical behaviour is extremely dynamic, continuous monitoring of alert insights and tuning of the parameters is an ongoing task.
KinetiCura alerts your nominated circle of care, who make the clinical judgement. It is a detection and escalation system, not an emergency service, and it augments rather than replaces the people responsible for care.
What is installed, and what it needs
No. KinetiCura runs on standard IP CCTV-class cameras, with a small edge-compute device doing the analysis on site.
Typically the rooms where falls happen and where long stillness would go unnoticed: hallway and stairs, lounge, and bedroom. Bathrooms are usually excluded by preference, though coverage of the approach to a bathroom often catches what matters.
The edge device carries battery backup and continues detecting locally without a connection, because analysis does not depend on the cloud. Alerts queue and deliver as soon as connectivity returns, and KinetiCura reports the outage itself so nobody assumes cover that is not currently there.
A usable baseline forms within the first few days, and continues adapting from there. During calibration we tune sensitivity with you before alerting goes fully live. Alerting continues, but alert dispatch is disabled until a suitable baseline has been learned.
Yes, with infrared-capable cameras — which is essential, since a large share of falls happen on night-time trips to the bathroom. Pose estimation works from the infrared image exactly as it does in daylight.
Contracts and pilots
Household subscriptions run monthly and can be cancelled with a month's notice. Facility licences are typically annual with a pilot period first, so you can see real alert volumes on one wing before committing the whole home.
Yes. Agencies can offer KinetiCura as a technology layer within their own service package under a revenue-share partnership, with a branded dashboard for their care coordinators.
The current pilot programme covers Greater London, with a phased rollout across the South East, Midlands and North West to follow, and European deployments planned as a second phase. If you are outside those areas, tell us — pilot placements are sometimes possible.
We are happy to discuss any specific needs you may have and how we can accommodate them. Any customizations are taken under review and if we can accommodate them, they will be made available in a future release of KinetiCura.
